Oil Changes

This is what we do! We drain your engine oil, remove your oil filter and install a brand new one. We install new oil of your choice from the brands we carry , and we also do a minor safety inspection; For instance, check your air filter, all the fluid levels, we check your tires, and battery, belts, hoses and more. These are a few of things we do when we perform an oil change.

Why get an oil change?

The oil viscosity gets diluted. The oil gets contaminated and it builds carbon deposit in oil and sludge. The carbon deposit causes more friction when the oil is traveling through the motor, and friction causes more heat. Heat causes excessive engine wear and can cause damage. So it’s best to use a good detergent motor oil or synthetic motor oil to prevent these problems. Synthetic oil can also give you better gas mileage!

Sludge

The number one reason for oil changes is to prevent the formation of sludge. It’s important to understand how sludge forms and how sludge formation is prevented.

How Sludge Forms

Simple, due to the engine combustion, (when the sparkplug fires inside your engine) igniting your fuel, you get a residue that passes through your piston rings and builds up in the oil. That becomes carbon deposit and sludge. By you driving with oil that has been contaminated and full of sludge, your engine won’t perform properly and this can cause premature engine wear and lack or lubrication and gas mileage.

5W30 versus 10W30

Virtually all new passenger vehicles sold in the U.S. use either 5W30 or 10W30 oil. The difference between the two is that the 5W30 flows better when cold, so if you live in a cold climate or operate your vehicle in a cold climate during the winter months, you should use 5W30 if it is the preferred oil for your vehicle. If you live in a sub-tropical climate and don’t operate your vehicle in cold climates, then 10W30 is acceptable as long as the manufacturer specifies that it is permissible to use itOil change intervals with synthetic oilSynthetic oils withstand higher temperatures before breaking down, and have more base stock and less viscosity modifiers. Synthetics wear out, become acidic, and eventually become saturated with suspended soot particles, just like regular oil. Again, an oil analysis is a good investment to determine the optimum oil change interval. Never exceed the manufacturer requirements for normal service.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance

You’ve never seen an oil like this before. Mobil 1 Extended Performance is a high-endurance motor oil designed for longer service intervals. It is a fully synthetic formulation that helps extend engine life, reduce oil breakdown and minimize engine wear — all while helping to keep your engine clean. Improvements that add up to exceptional protection for 15,000 miles. Guaranteed.76 super synthetic blend motor oil is a premium-quality, partsynthetic, api sm motor oil designed for use in passenger cars, vans, sports utility vehicles and light trucks under all operating conditions. It is formulated to provide excellent wear protection, to minimize engine sludge and varnish deposits, and to resist viscosity and high-temperature thermal breakdown even in severe service. It also protects against rust, bearing corrosion and foaming. The part-synthetic formulation provides an extra margin of protection at both low and high temperatures compared with conventional all-mineral motor oils.
